When we sowed the corn and we dug the farm,

Hymn Text
Verse 1
When we sowed the corn and we dug the farm,
We could not be sure that the rain would come;
But we trusted God, because we knew
It was not impossible for him to do.
Let the heav’n sing, let the earth join in
Crying out with one accord to praise the King:
By the old and young, let the song be sung;
Men and women join to praise the Holy One.
Verse 2
So long as the sun and the rain are there,
There will be food enough for us to share;
For our God has got us in his care;
It is not impossible for him to do.
Let the heav’n sing, let the earth join in
Crying out with one accord to praise the King:
By the old and young, let the song be sung;
Men and women join to praise the Holy One.
Verse 3
O our dear Master, who our Fathers led,
We rely on you for our daily bread
And whate’er we face in the days ahead,
It is not impossible for you to do.
Let the heav’n sing, let the earth join in
Crying out with one accord to praise the King:
By the old and young, let the song be sung;
Men and women join to praise the Holy One.
