Bless thou thy chosen sons
With gifts of Christian grace
Through change and stress do thou remain
Their constant dwelling place.
Through them thy work is done;
Through them thy voice is heard;
Bear witness to their sacred call,
Thou true and living Word.

Reveal the light of truth
And let its glory shine;
By human words and deeds, convey
The sense of things divine.
In ev'ry speech and tongue,
Transcend imperfect creeds,
Pierce through the veil of unconcern
To meet our modern needs.

Endue thy sons with pow'r
To comfort, teach and guide,
To walk by faith, to persevere
Whatever may betide.
O magnify thy law,
Make thy salvation known,
And reconcile the world to thee,
Almighty, Holy One.
