O Father, all creating,
Whose wisdom, love, and power
First bound two lives together
In Eden’s primal hour,
Today to these your children
Your earliest gifts renew,
A home by Thee made happy,
A love by you kept true.

O Savior, Guest most bounteous
bring Cana here anew,
Reveal today your presence,
With these who call on you;
Their store of earthly gladness
Transform to heavenly wine,
And teach them, in the tasting,
To know your gifts divine.

O Spirit of the Father,
Breathe on them from above,
So mighty in your pureness,
So tender in your love;
That, guarded by your presence,
From sin and strife kept free,
Their lives may own your guidance,
Their wills with yours agree.

Except you build it, Father,
The house is built in vain;
Except you, Savior, bless it,
The joy will turn to pain;
But nought can break the union
Of hearts in your made one;
The love your Spirit hallows
Is endless love begun.
